Note on the Battery Ordinance

Instruction according to § 18 Battery Act (BattG)

Please ensure that you dispose of your old batteries/rechargeable batteries at a municipal collection centre or local retailer, as required by law. Disposal in normal household waste is prohibited and contravenes the Battery Act. Disposal is free of charge for you. You are also welcome to return the batteries/rechargeable batteries purchased from us free of charge after use. Batteries/rechargeable batteries must always be returned to us with sufficient postage. Returns of batteries/rechargeable batteries should be addressed to:

Batteries and rechargeable batteries that contain harmful substances are clearly labelled with the symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin.

Under the symbol of the crossed-out dustbin is the chemical name of the corresponding pollutant. Examples of this are

Cd for cadmium
Pb for lead
Hg for mercury

You also have the option of reading this information again in the documents accompanying the consignment or in the operating instructions of the respective manufacturer.
